Our mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2011 when she was 79 years old. Fortunately, she is still with us at the age of 93. However, the unfortunate news is that she has been gradually declining. It’s incredibly difficult to grieve the loss of a loved one, even if she is still physically present.

“We are grieving because we love her. And we can be grateful she is still here while grieving what Alzheimer’s has taken from us.”

Experiencing the loss gradually is incredibly painful.

We are not giving up on our Mom. We are loving and caring for her through this difficult kind of loss.
