In Memory of My Dad. For Every Family Facing Alzheimer’s.
My dad was about 67 when Alzheimer’s began changing his life—and ours. A father of nine children, he had a wife who loved him deeply and a family determined to give him the best care possible. Watching him slowly slip away was heartbreaking. We learned firsthand how much this disease asks of families and caregivers.
On October 17, I’m walking in Walk4ALZ in honor of my dad and every family facing Alzheimer’s or dementia.
As a newly appointed board member of Alzheimer’s San Diego, I am humbled by this organization’s dedication to our community. Nearly 100,000 people in San Diego County live with Alzheimer’s or other types of dementia. Alzheimer’s San Diego provides education classes, support groups, social activities, and other dementia-specific programs, all completely free of charge, thanks to the generosity of people like you.
100% of every dollar donated stays in San Diego County, helping people living with dementia and those who care for them find guidance, dignity, and support. Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. If your employer offers matching gifts, your generosity could go even further—we’re happy to provide any documentation needed to support your matching gift request.
Whether you’re local or supporting from afar, please consider a gift of any size. Your generosity helps ensure families like mine have somewhere to turn.
