Walking for Hope P. and Abby
Hi friends and loved ones,
Once again, my page has been deleted and I've had to create a new blurb, which has been a difficult exercise every year that it unexpectedly happens (note to self, future me!). However, as I reflect on how irritated I feel whenever this occurs and I put this pressure on myself to craft a profound statement on Alzheimer's and grief, I now realize that this feeling may just be the reverberations of my own losses. I miss my mom and Gram very much and feel grateful that I have a space, in this beautiful walk, to honor their memories.
Mom, you took care of your mother in a beautiful tribute to her as her memory and body failed her. It was the strongest I've ever seen you, and it's the memory I choose to embed in my heart forever. I miss you.
Gram, I think of you every day as I gaze at my little Hope, who has your exact dark, almond-shaped eyes. I miss you so much.
To those who have loved and lost to this disease, I am with you, as is everyone walking in the meaningful event. Sending all of the love, Christine
