Alzheimer's San Diego welcomes all families and friends to join us for Walk4ALZ 2023. We are dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive space to all who attend our events or seek out our services. Festival Area Opens: 6:30 AM | Opening Ceremony 7:45 AM | Walk: 8 AM

There are a record number of San Diegans living with Alzheimer’s and related dementias. We see you. We hear you. And every October, we walk for you.
 
Walk4ALZ 2023 will be on Saturday, October 21st. It is completely free to register and is a family-friendly and dog-friendly event. The route is 2.75 miles around Balboa Park. Click here to view the route. It is the largest fundraiser for Alzheimer's San Diego, a local nonprofit organization. It is the only walk where every dollar stays in San Diego County to support people living with dementia, their caregivers, and research to find a cure.

For Remote Walkers:
You can participate by taking a walk anywhere, anytime the weekend of Walk. Send us any photos you'd like featured by replying to this email, or to walk4alz@alzsd.org. You can sign up as an individual walker, or join or create a team to make an even bigger impact. Click here to register >>

Parking:
Parking is FREE. Use any of the available lots along Park Blvd. 
 
Fundraising Incentives
As a Walk4ALZ supporter, you will receive incentives based on your individual fundraising level. See below for the different levels.





 
Walk4ALZ 2023 Final Event Instructions

Thank you for signing up for the Walk4ALZ! The walk is just around the corner on Saturday, October 21st. Feel free to walk with us at Balboa Park or "walk remotely". To those who are Team Captains, please forward this information to any participating team members. 

Please take a moment to review the information below.

For Remote Walkers:
While we won't be together in person, we'll be together in spirit! You can participate by taking a walk anywhere, anytime on the 21st. Send us any photos you'd like featured by replying to this email, or to walk4alz@alzsd.org.

In-Person Location:
1900 Park Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92101
(Corner of Park Blvd. & Presidents Way, East side of Balboa Park)

Event Timeline:
  • 6:30 AM: Festival area opens
  • 7:45 AM: Opening ceremony
  • 8 AM: Walk begins


Parking:
Parking is FREE. Use any of the available lots along Park Blvd.

Community Partners:
Check out our community partner booths and the amazing work that they do for San Diegans around the county! 


Road Closures:
Road work will be conducted over the weekend on SR-163 and I-8 east bound. Drivers from eastbound I-8 to southbound SR-163 will need to take the northbound connector to Friars Road before returning south. Drivers from southbound SR-163 to the 6th Avenue exit will need to take the Washington Street off-ramp. For more information, please click on this link.
